Sietske en Stephan got married.

Wij feliciteren Sietske en Stephan met hun huwelijk vandaag. Sietske komt van de Derde molen van de Nederwaard. Die is door haar vader (en haar neef) versierd en in de vreugd gezet. De molen van de neef trouwens ook.
We congratulate Sietske and Stephan with their marriage today. Sietske was born on windmill no 3 of the Nederwaard. That windmill was decorated and put in the celebrational position by her father (and her nephew). So was the windmill of the nephew.

De band Hollerado heeft in Kinderdijk gefilmd voor een video voor hun lied "So it goes". Een lied over de oorlog 40-45, het verzet en het bombardement op Rotterdam. Citaat: "Can't tell the wind which way to blow".
Canadian based band Hollerado came to Kinderdijk to shoot a video on their song "So it goes". A song about the war 40-45, the resistance and the bombing of Rotterdam. Quote: "Can't tell the wind which way to blow".

Sunrise at Kinderdijk. Not the slightest breeze, absolute calmness, except for the flapping of the birds.
Landscapes are probably my favorite kind of photography. In this album I share pictures of all seasons and from all the different places I visited.

Nationale Molendag met muziek tussen de molens. En in ons Bezoekerscentrum zochten de muzikanten elkaar op voor een samenspel.
National Windmill Day brought us musicians between the windmills. Our Visitor Centre saw them come together to play together.

Dodenherdenking 4 mei. De malende molens worden even voor acht uur stilgezet. In de rouwstand.
Dutch Remembrance Day May 4th. Just before eight pm the working windmills are halted. In mourning position.

Nieuw in onze winkel. Echte Kinderdijk Ansichtkaarten. Net als al onze souvenirs: Alle opbrengst gaat naar het onderhoud van het Werelderfgoed.

The Hackensaw Boys rolled into Virginia Beach on April 6th to play a show at The Jewish Mother. I don’t know if it was kosher, but it sure was tasty!

O.a: -We lichten een tipje van de sluier op en zijn op bezoek bij de dames die de laatste hand leggen aan de kleding van de Oranjes voor de troonswisseling. -Afrikaanse kapsalon The Friends, Amsterdam.

De nieuwe tafels in ons Bezoekerscentrum Wisboom gemaal bewijzen hun nut elke dag op de meest uiteenlopende manieren. Luier verschonen.
The new tables in our Visitor Centre Wisboom Pumping Station proof usefull in various ways. Changing nappies.

Zondag was een mooie dag op Kinderdijk. na het werken nog wat rondgehobbeld en fotootjes gemaakt, ook van kleine eendjes en roofvogel die het op hen gemunt had. Mooi licht !

Sunday it was a beautiful day at Kinderdijk. After working I made a walk and took some pictures, inlcuding little ducks and a bird of prey that was watching them. Light was beautiful !
