Peace and quiet in sweeping settings for hikers of all levels and ages
Stroll along old country roads and across mighty dikes, while you take in a breath-taking polder landscape so vast and flat that you could lose yourself in it. Enjoy rows of whispering poplars, gnarly old pollard willows, and reeds swaying along the water’s edge. Discover herons, godwits, and redshanks while high up in the Dutch cloudscape, harriers and buzzards soar majestically overhead. The outlines of windmills and church steeples betray the location of picturesque polder villages from miles away.
