Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage, the largest windmill complex in the world

Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage is the largest windmill complex in the world. Here you can enjoy the nineteen windmills

Kinderdijk shows you how the Dutch have been living, struggling, and working with the water that defines our country. Our famous polders used to be soggy peat bogs, and they would return to that state as soon as we stopped draining these lands. To keep our feet dry, we have been working together in our district water boards for centuries

You buy your tickets easily online in advance. With your ticket you have access to all our visitor locations within the set time: discover three museum mills, enjoy a cruise along the windmills, watch the multi-screen film at Secondary pumping station De Fabriek and visit the Wisboom Pumping Station and our Visitors Centre. Connect your ticket to the Kinderdijk app (Kinderdijk UNESCO Official) to use the free audio tours.

Scavenger hunt

There is more than enough to see, do, learn and discover for younger children. From October 11 till November 7 children can learn more about the windmills in Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage by doing a fun scavenger hunt. Can you spot the difference between a water mill and a grain mill? Windmills are hidden at several locations. Did you find them all? Then you’ll receive a small gift to take home! Collect the scavenger hunt at the beginning of your visit at the cash register in our Visitors centre.

You can end your visit to Kinderdijk in a cozy atmosphere in our Kinderdijk-cafe. Enjoy a special fall offer during these four weeks.
