By public transport
On the road or on the river. By bus or Waterbus.
Kinderdijk Wortld Heritage is easy to reach, and as we are keen to preserve the environment, we encourage our visitors to travel by public transport. You can take a regular bus or embark on the Waterbus. Departing from Dordrecht or Rotterdam, this will take you right to our doorstep.
R-NET line 489:
From Nieuw-Lekkerland to Rotterdam via Alblasserdam, and vice versa, from Rotterdam to Nieuw-Lekkerland via Alblasserdam.
Departs from Rotterdam Kralingse Zoom (from this public transport hub, you’ll be at the Kinderdijk Molenkade stop in about 40 minutes).
SnelBuzz line 316:
From Dordrecht to Kinderdijk via Alblasserdam, and back from Kinderdijk to Dordrecht via Alblasserdam.
Departs from Dordrecht Central Train Station (from here, you’ll be at the Kinderdijk Molenkade stop in about 35 minutes).
StreekBuzz line 190:
From Rotterdam Zuidplein to Streefkerk, and from Streefkerk to Rotterdam Zuidplein (during rush hours only – see below).
Departs from the Streefkerk Dorp Zuid stop and Rotterdam Zuidplein public transport hub, respectively, stopping at the Kinderdijk Molenkade bus stop in either direction.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a one-way connection that only operates during rush hours. During the morning rush hour, line 190 takes you from Streefkerk to Rotterdam; whereas in the afternoon rush hour, it takes you in the opposite direction from Rotterdam to Streefkerk.
These buses operate by an all-weekday schedule from Mondays to Fridays, including the winter season. The only exceptions to the schedule are the Christmas and summer holidays.
